I thought...

There was some irony that no one ever asked him what he ever wanted at least not concerning things that mattered. Everyone seemed comforted to hang at the periphery where things remained blurry only asking vague questions and letting what they thought was best for him in various cliches so that they would correct his vision and save him from himself if he dared to stray from the path therefore getting rid of any blame.

There was a fear in their eyes that once they new then they would be guilty andin a world thirsty for justification " I never knew" was one weapon everyone made sure they had in their arsenal. If he specified then they would have to listen but everyone was quick to offer correction and solutions but none for a second was capable of comprehension. In their minds they had constructed a path he was to follow based on the convictions they thought he had but never bothered to ask for then they would really know and that was unfathomable because they already knew.

So everyone continued living their lives until the day of reckoning came and most just said I thought" and others claimed to have always known.
