One two, one two , one!

He is finally mine, after a lifetime of waiting

One hand on my waist, fingers on the other intertwine with mine.

The children are screaming, the elderly are chattering with drinks,

everyone is happy.

One two , one two, one!

His breath on my shoulder sends chills down my spine

Hard breaths, sighs and moans

All night long we give it all.

Everyone is sleeping.

One two, one two ,one!

My mood is changing, I feel am puking.

It's not been so long but I think she's started kicking.

He puts his ear on my tummy to listen, we just giggle.

Everyone is whispering.

One two, one two, one!

Sharp pain ,twisting and gushing.

He rushes to my side ,fast enough before I fall

There's a certain plea in his voice but I cannot hear him

Everyone is fading.

One! two ,one! two , one!

Those are the blood stains that hit the floor despite the midwife's efforts

Relics of everything she'd ever become

I open my mouth to scream her name only to realise we didn't give her a name yet.

Everyone one is watching

One two, one two ,one!

He looks at me, a face I have never seen, from lands i have never known

His eyes are poignant and pleading,

I hope he never experiences my pain.

Everyone is leaving.
