a book review

"She is me, too" is a psychological thriller based on a 27 year old Winnifred winters who has been raised by her mother. She is agoraphobic, diabetic, her lungs fail her and unfortunately of late after the passing of her mother it seems she has been increasingly loosing time. Around the same time there is a serial killer on the loose whose string of murders are difficult to link let alone find the motif.
To avoid spoiling the plot for those who might want to read the book I’ll try not to reveal much about the plot.
Winnifred is eventually diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder similarly called Multiple personality disorder. This is defined as a condition were a person exhibits two or more alternating and distinct personalities that exist with or without the knowledge about each of them, so depending on the personality you encounter it is like you are meeting very different people who just share the same body but you don’t know that so you just assume the person just flipped some switch in their head.
It even gets more interesting because the different personalities are on different extremes of the spectrum so you can imagine the confusion. It raises a couple of questions some simpler but others much more complex… for example in the instance were the personalities are interested in different people and depending on who is in charge for the day they go out with the man of their choice , is it considered cheating? Or which personality deserves to really take the dominant presence?
The plot is really impressive though you have to brace yourself for the ending because as friend of mine who read the book put it the ending is “it’s traumatic”. But there are a couple of questions which somehow feel unanswered at the ending of the book with my major one being to these people who suffer from these disorders project an out of body personality which themselves can interact with without being aware? Are the these personalities capable of interacting between each other without either of them noticing?
Though the book does not join the rank of the SILENT PATIENT or GONE GIRL it is really a good book for a thriller which you should check out if you want to just read something for entertainment
